Serbian Association of small and medium sized enterprises, craft shops and entrepreneurs (SA SME) is the non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization whose members are the founders of SMEs in Serbia, associated at regional and sectoral level.
 
The foundation of SA SME was the answer to the Strategy of the EU development from 1999/2000. The Strategy was dedicated to the regional development and to the development of SMEs and entrepreneurship and improvement of national policy regarding this sector.
 
Mission: To become a leader in providing support to its members and to develop into significant collocutor in social dialogue, through reinforcement of the links between entrepreneurs, representatives of associations and governmental and non-governmental sector. To set the stage, to Serbian companies and brands, for the appearance on EU market.
 
Vision: To become most important national SME association with dominant and recognisable position in Serbia and Europe, that supports the development of its members. To develop into leader in advocating and defending interests of SMEs, holder of national and international support programs and projects that represents Serbian economy through several partner organization, EU and worldwide.   
  
Goals:
  • Promotion of business environment for SMEs and crafts, by building stimulating  business environment, particularly through the implementation of the Small Business Act and Think small first principle;
  • Efficacy and competitiveness promotion of Serbian SME sector
  • Positioning of small and medium sized businesses on internal market and supporting their appearance on foreign markets, in the region and within EU, above all;
  • Directing policies, at all levels, towards growth oriented measures, assuring prosperity, stability of SME sector, at national, regional and European levels;
  • Assistance in business development of individuals and entire community. 

 

PhD Milan Jankovic, Honorary President of SA SME

 

Milan JankovićPhD Milan Jankovic, President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce accepted SA SME Honorary President title. President Jankovic said: "It is a great honour to be elected Honorary President, but also a great responsibility". He promised to pursue the efforts aimed at supporting SME sector, particularly at the time of global crisis. "Our main objective is to create a stimulating, safe, well-organized legislative and administrative frame for business, which is particularly important for SMEs. We have to create sustainable, competitive, export oriented private sector. Increase of SMEs and new jobs will be our priorities. We will strongly support the internationalisation of SMEs and their involvement in leasing clusters worldwide.

 

Our aims are the strengthening of entrepreneurial spirit and stimulating entrepreneurial initiatives, and thus achievement of economic growth. We will try to link our members with investors, business angels and investment funds, which is crucial for the development of their business ideas.

 

We will continue our activities related to the equal regional development that can be achieved primarily by public-private-partnership, cooperation of institutions and local governance at all levels. We will pay special attention to the services, sectors of rural and spa tourism, agriculture, food industry, production of organic food.

 

We will also be more active in regional cooperation with partner organisations, in order to create and reinforce regional networks, link potential business partners, create business incubators and introduce new quality in economy. We will pursue with the development of all sorts of integrations, within CEFTA region, Europe, Russia, China, and all other markets interesting for our members, with the aim of increasing foreign exchange rate."

 

In his opinion, it was very important to connect our companies through business networks, which enable continuous flow of important information about projects and up-to-date know-how. Active linking with UEAPME, Businesseurope, OECD, INSME, Eurochambres and other multilateral organisations will open new perspectives for cooperation.

 

"We will try to help our members to achieve their interests. I strongly believe that entrepreneurs can become the motor of economic prosperity and further development of Serbia", concluded Mr. Jankovic.
